Jewellery for horses
To fit bridle rosettes onto a bridle:

Slip the rosettes onto the loops at the end of the browband. Slide the headpiece and throatlatch through the browband as usual making sure that they are either side of the metal loop of the rosette (they can be quite tight to start with!). In the case of an English-style bridle with detached noseband slide the noseband headpiece through the browband too. When all the straps are through, slide the browband into position, the rosette loop will ‘pop’ into place where the headpiece divides.

Put the remaining parts of the bridle together as usual.
To detach for cleaning or to place on another bridle, just reverse the steps above.

The picture below shows an alternative way of wearing the rosettes
on an English-style bridle with a wide padded browband that tapers
at the ends:
Please Note: Only use this method if the main body of the browband,
excluding its loops, is large enough to prevent the rosette loop
from slipping along the browband.
Slide the rosette to the inside of the browband loop so that
it is held in place by the swell of the padding and then thread
the headpieces through the browband outside the rosette loop.
Check that the rosette is firmly anchored by the padded part of the browband. For added grip an elastic plaiting band or two can be wrapped around the browband inside the rosette loop.

The rosettes are made from harness brass and mainly metal embellishments. Although we try to make the bridle rosettes as robust as possible, it is best if they are treated with some care to preserve their good looks.
We recommend that they are cleaned with a jewellery cloth suitable for costume jewellery (particularly the rosettes containing stones or enamel), or gentle brass-cleaning wadding. Often a rub with a soft cloth is all that is needed. Please note that the use of soapy water can stain and mark highly polished brass.
We hope you enjoy using your Jennycob bridle rosettes.
